13 Ways to Use Personal Brand Photography

I'm a huge believer in small business owners investing in personal brand photography for their websites and social media. Having bespoke images that tell your brand story really elevates your business above the competition. Allowing you to show up authentically and build trust with your potential clients.

Personal brand photography, like good design, can give your business that unique selling point. It shows you are a real person that’s passionate about what you do.

But how do I use my personal brand photography? I hear you ask!

Today I would love to share with you the many ways you can use personal brand photography for your business and how you can get creative with what you have.

1. Personal Brand Photography For Blog Graphics

A great way to bring people to your blog and website is by sharing your images to Pinterest and social media. This is where your own personal brand photography comes into play.

You can use them to make amazing posts that make you stand out. Adding text overlays with apps like Canva will help you grab even more clicks. Pinterest absolutely loves fresh content so you need a great bank of images to draw from.

Once you’ve had a personal brand shoot you will have just that! You can expect around 300 images from a 3-hour brand shoot which will give months of content creation. No more scrabbling around for snaps from your phone!

2. Personal Brand Photography For Emails

Once you’ve spent all that energy building a mailing list you need to create a great email that continues to build on your brand identity. Try personalising your email signature by using one of your headshot pictures. Helping to build on that connection with your customers.

Show your products off with flat lays. These are perfect talking points for introducing a new collection. And you can curate a lifestyle theme around them.

3. Personal Brand Photography For Facebook

Using stock photography for your Facebook header is OK but using personal brand photography is so much better. Your Facebook page will then reflect your business style. Using a photo from a personal brand photography shoot is a great way to do this.

4. Brand Photography Flat Lay Images

Flat lays are a brilliant way to show off your products or key items to your business. Not only do they show off your creativity but they are perfect for Instagram, Facebook and Google Business posts.

You can also use them on your website with text overlays to highlight special categories or as a portfolio to share with potential clients. Having some great brand photography flat lays are a key part of your image bank. And are easily used for social media posts to show off your amazing products.

5. Selling a Lifestyle - Sell a good nights sleep not a mattress!

Selling the feeling your product or service gives not only creates loyal customers but it allows them to buy into your whole brand ethos and love what you do.  Capturing the emotional connections we are seeking starts with your passion for your business. Using personal brand photography involves your customers/clients in your process of making, creating and delivering your service.

6. Advertising On Social Media

Having great personal brand photography can really help your Facebook Ad campaigns to stand out.  Use them for building a carousel and canvas style ads for really dynamic content that tells your brand story in an engaging way.

7. Personal Brand Photography For Websites

This is probably the most important use for your personal brand photography. Having a bank of images to draw upon really makes your life so much easier. Try a gallery of images showing how you work. Have a great headshot for your ‘About’ page. And fill your homepage with images that will make your clients want to stay and find out all about you and what you can offer.

8. Growing Your Instagram Following

One of the fastest-growing social media platforms out there today is Instagram. The only platform that is basically 99% visual. Curating a beautiful feed that is consistent and fits with your brand builds trust and loyalty.

A great way to set yourself apart from the competition is to have original images giving an insight into your brand. By using personal brand photography portraits you also boost engagement with your followers. After all, who doesn't love to say hello to a real person!

9. Personal Brand Photography Headshots For Business Cards

Make sure people remember who you are! You may meet a lot of new people at a networking event, so how do you stay in their minds? Add a stylish headshot to your business card so they remember who they met. Make sure your business card matches the style and vibe of your website and social media. Then your brand looks seamless, cohesive, and with consistency you build trust.

10. Online Presence

Your online presence should reach way beyond your website and social media. With great images to use you can create graphics for your Youtube Chanel or for your Pinterest boards. These platforms are great for bringing new people into your ecosystem. But to stand out from the crowd you need images that reflect your brand.

11. Show Off Your Assets

Create a bank of images that is a part of your brand. Using personal brand photography is the best way to extend the reach of your brand. For example, a yoga teacher may want to create a resource for helping women learn about the benefits of yoga. Or an artist may want to show the creative process. A brand photographer can help document your process with the mood of your brand. Whatever your business is, when you start using your branding, you start to build real connections.
