Brand Photographer in Bournemouth with Coach Julia Trehane
As a Bournemouth brand photographer, I’ve worked with some truly special ladies, and Julia was one of the most special. Her courage, warmth, and kindness really shine. Most of us will empathise with each other about getting in front of the camera, we’re all a bit daunted and feel exposed by it. So when I met Julia and heard all about her life with anorexia and recovery to becoming an eating disorder recovery coach I knew that this would be a massive massive leap for her. Showing up on camera is incredibly brave and vulnerable.
Julia’s passion is to help others find freedom and full recovery from an eating disorder by offering a coaching program with love and support every step of the way. She is a true inspiration for what can be overcome with the right help and determination. I find it quite hard sometimes to find the words to describe a client, that’s why I love being a photographer because I feel the way in which I connect with my clients. There is something about capturing an image of a person, that translates the physical into also feeling seen on an emotional level. My aim is to show what I can’t always find the word to express. In this shoot, I wanted to show Julia’s warmth, strength, and vulnerability. I hope I have done her justice.
Bournemouth Brand Photographer - The Brief
The brief for Julia’s Bournemouth brand photography shoot was simple, she needed a selection of images to use for her new website being launched soon, and also for social media. The locations we selected started at Flamingo Cafe in Winton, which I love and have used a few times now. And some beach shots including her beloved dogs and at her home in Southbourne. Both locations were perfect and gave me plenty of opportunities for getting her the right shots. Julia’s brief was to really capture her warmth, love, and energy for her new website and together we nailed I think.
Bournemouth Brand Photographer - The Shoot
I love to start my Bournemouth brand photography shoots with a ‘getting to know you’ because often this is the first time I get to meet my client face to face. It’s good to start with a cuppa and chat just to relax in each other’s company, feels more like catching up with a friend then. This must have helped as we soon got into taking pictures even with other people around, once you just connect and just focus on each other it really does feel like you have the place to yourself. The guys at Flamingo Cafe were super accommodating letting us use their lovely space, the coffee’s great too!
Julia really stepped out of her comfort zone for her brand photography shoot, to get camera ready she’d had her hair and makeup done, which I love because a little makeup can really help give you that boost of confidence.
Once we hit the beach though I could really see Julia relax completely, she loves spending time outside with her dogs and it was fantastic to meet up with them and her hubby who kindly brought them down for a few pictures. Just look at those reactions! Getting your fur babies in your brand photography shoot is a great way of showing your nurturing side and you can’t help but smile.
It was the first time I’d done a Bournemouth brand shoot at Boscombe Pier, I’ve wanted to for ages as it has so many cool spots to use. I’ve often taken street photography images there, so it was really fun for me to get some brand images for `Julia there. After all, you can’t have a Bournemouth brand photography shoot and not use the beach huts! After all that fresh air we headed back to Julia’s home office for a few shots of her working from home, even though we were both pretty tired by this stage, Julia still bought that smile to the party.
Bournemouth Brand Photographer - The Results
I couldn’t wait to take a look at the day’s Bournemouth brand photography shoot when I got home, I was really excited because I knew I’d captured something really special. We’d packed a lot into her Bournemouth brand photography shoot, getting a beautiful gallery of over 400 images for her to select from. I made sure there was a variety of formats that would easily work on the website and her social media, which Julia has already put to good use. I love seeing my clients taking up some well-deserved space with my images, it’s their time to be seen and know that they are worthy of it.
I feel very privileged to have worked with Julia, she’s awesome.
