As a Southampton headshots photographer, I get to visit some gorgeous locations for shoots, so when Dr Sally Hambly got in touch for her headshots in The New Forest I jumped at the chance. And of course, it’s always a bonus when there’s a pet involved!
Southampton Headshots Photographer - The Brief
The brief for Sally’s Southampton headshots photography was nice and easy, she needed some professional headshots for her social media profile pictures in her home office where she runs her 1:1 coaching. And then after a two-minute ride into The New Forest some relaxed casual headshots with her Fox Red Labrador.
Southampton Headshot Photographer - The Shoot
Once I’d managed to find Sally’s lovely cottage in The New Forest ( I often need help with directions), she welcomed me into her home office. I’ve done a few shoots in sheds/ office /studio spaces now, I may just have to start my own shed-of-the-year competition!
Sally’s passion is supporting other doctors to make life and career choices that put their well-being at the center, and she runs this from her cabin. So it was important to show her working environment and also the place that brings her so much peace and quiet from the stressful world of medicine.

It didn’t take long for Sally to relax with me pointing my camera at her as we hit off straight away. Like most female entrepreneurs, no matter what our chosen profession is, when we’re doing it alone we have that immediate connection.
We’ve all struggled with overwhelm, imposter syndrome and just working so hard we’re exhausted. But we all love what we do and wouldn’t change it for the world. And Sally has put her wealth of experience into helping others overcome these pressures.
Southampton Headshot Photographer - The Results
I must have been doing something right on this shoot because even the dog posed beautifully for me. I think it helped that I had hold of her ball! Sally was also brilliant, following my guidance to pose against trees.
We captured plenty of beautiful headshots of Sally and made the most of her headshots shoot by quickly changing tops. Giving her a few options to use over the coming months when she updates her profile images.
